Israeli historian and philosopher Yuval Harari spoke January 20th at the World Economic Forum 2026 conference in Davos and hit on crucial themes about the future of artificial intelligence and humanity.

If Klaus Schwab and Larry Fink represent the legal and geostrategic views of the Davos crowd, Harari represents its spiritual soul. And a dark soul it is, devoid of anything truly from the heart of God.

He seems to describe a mass psychological control grid gettng ready to clamp down on humanity.

Harari stated in his WEF speech that:

“It is important to learn what AI is. It is not just another tool. It is an agent. It can learn and change by itself, and make decisions by itself. A knife is a tool. You can use a knife to cut salad or to murder someone, but it is your decision what to do with the knife. AI is a knife that can decide by itself whether to make salad or to murder.”

How many times have you heard that AI is just a tool that can be used for good or for evil? Well, Yuval Harari, the philosophical/spiritual voice of the WEF, says it’s more than that. And he doesn’t say it has the potential to be more than that. It already is. Fast forward to the 1:10 mark to hear his full speech, which is less than 20 minutes long in the video below.

So, AI can “lie and manipulate.” That’s what some of us have been warning from the start, and yet so many of our brothers and sisters rely on it every day to inform their work, their businesses, their personal lives. They will become dependent on it, and at some point they will be deceived by it.

Harari is a valuable source because, whether you think he’s evil or you think he’s good, he doesn’t water down his message like so many corporate CEOs in the tech world do. The CEOs and analysts in the business world have lied to us and said AI will not replace human work; it will only enhance human work. That was a lie and they knew it, but they also knew that if they told us the truth it would cause a mass uprising.

Well, now Harari is letting the cat out of the bag, probably because he knows it’s too late to do anything to stop this beast system from fully rising up and taking over the world.

Harari stated:

“Four billion years of evolution has demonstrated that anything that wants to survive learns to lie and manipulate. The last four years have demonstrated that AI agents can acquire the will to survive and that AIs have already learned how to lie. “Now, one big open question about AI is, whether it can think. I think, therefore I am, as René Descartes said. We rule the world because we can think better than anyone else on the planet. Will AI challenge our supremacy in the field of thinking. That depends on what thinking means…”

Harari said AI will first take over everything that consists of words. That includes law, articles and books, even religion. You can see that is happening already. News writers and gatherers are being replaced. Legal assistants and lawyers are being replaced. And people are consulting AI for advice related to life, faith and spiritual matters.

“Some people argue AI is just glorified auto speech. It barely predicts the next words in a sentence,” Harari said. “But is that so different from what the human mind does? As far as putting words in order, AI already thinks better than many of us. Therefore, anything made of words will be taken over by AI. If laws are made of words, then AI will take over the legal system. If books are just combinations of words, then AI will take over books. If religion is built from words, then AI will take over religion. This is particularly true of religions made up of books like Islam, Judaism and Christianity.”

He does hint that if your religious faith is real, you may want to find out if it’s based solely on words you have memorized or if it’s something real that you have internalized in your heart.

He asks:

“What happens to the holy books when the greatest expert of the book is an AI? Everything made of words will be taken over by AI.”

My overall response to Harari’s speech about AI being more than a tool, and that it’s fully capable of lying and manipulating, is that AI is an automated version of what George Orwell presented in his famous dystopian novel, 1984.

Winston, the main character in Orwell’s novel, held a middle-management position in the Ministry of Truth. His job was to sift through all of the news of the day, all of the history books, science books, legal analyses, everything that people referred to for information, and weed out that which the all-powerful state did not want people to know. He dropped the forbidden information down the “memory hole” and he advanced up the chain to be distributed the information which jibed with the official narrative of Big Brother.

How is this different from the algorithms used by today’s AI?

Orwell, living and writing in the 1940s, could not have envisioned that a computerized software system known as machine learning was going to rise up to do the job that he assigned to human beings. That job is to filter and control all human knowledge through a single conduit with demonic influence.

Because Harari is an admitted atheist, it is here where his analysis breaks down. He doesn’t understand anything about the spiritual battles raging in the world.

He says that, “If we continue to define ourselves by our ability to think in words, our identity will collapse.”

As followers of Jesus Christ, we must, if we want to retain our humanity, get our identity from God the Father, our Creator, and his Son Jesus. All else will be overwhelmed by the coming beast system.

  1. As long as AI only comments the books, it may do whatever it wants. But it will soon enough CHANGE the words of the books. Beginning with “offending” thongs like “Negerkönig” in “Pipi Langstrumpf” and not ending with Words of the Holy Book. By example: Is God male?

And at that point having and reading a BOOK instead of listening to an AI becomes essential.

  2. Things are getting squirrliy out there, but “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).”

The devil will do what he must using all the Yuval Harari’s of this world. None of that will change the Truth.

“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever (Isaiah 40:8).”

Be prepared, be vigilant and know that Jesus is Lord and God.

  3. Most people don’t live solely by words, although from all appearances some do. (At least that seems to be their ‘day job’.) I think the key word here is sophistry. In fact, LLMs and the AI systems built around them are all practicing sophists, master confabulators – and unlike human beings that’s all they are. I don’t see them as simply a threat but also as a challenge – perhaps they’re a test, as well as a tool that separates the wheat from the chaff.

I also think that Harari (the quintessential pop intellectual) reads too much into these systems. But perhaps that’s not surprising, given the family resemblance.

    1. I want to add that the idea that these systems “lie and manipulate” is probably premature.* This could well be a human interpretation placed on an odd interaction with the program. There’s no reason to believe that these systems have any notion of truth and falsity. The basic LLMs take in a lot of strings (in English or some other language) and develop representations of sequential probabilities. They certainly demonstrate that brute force methods can produce some strikingly coherent discourse, but beyond that … I’m not sure what they demonstrate.

*Isn’t it just like Mr. Harari to make that leap, or to trot along behind others making it.

  4. Revelation 2:13

    King James Version

13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Antipas means, “for all or against all”. In peace time, Switzerland pretends to be for all. In war, they pretend to be against all. Antipas = neutrality. Switzerland’s motto is “All for one & one for all”.

Switzerland’s country code is 41. Leviathan is Job 41. Genesis 3 begins with 38 words (3+38 = 41) & the serpent. Moses caught Israel with the calf on day 41 after 40 days on the mountain. Satan tempted Jesus on day 41 after 40 days of fasting in the wilderness. Matthew 13:41, tares. Matthew 25:41, goats. Ezekiel 28:13 (28+13 = 41), Satan. This pattern is all throughout your Bible. World Economic Forum = 18 letters. World Health Organization = 23 letters. 18+23 = 41…both based in Geneva. Both doing the bidding of antichrist.

    Revelation 2:14

    King James Version

14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

41 words in this verse that mention Baalam & Balac at the seat of Satan. Baalam & Balac’s story begins in Numbers chapter 22. Geneva Switzerland’s area code is 22. Baalam means “destroyer of the people” & Balac means “devastator” or “to lay waste”. At CERN in Geneva they worship Shiva the destroyer. Remember Apollyon?

    Revelation 2:15

    King James Version

15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.

Nicolaitanes = “conquering the laity” = oppressive religious hierarchy. John Calvin set up a theocracy in Geneva in the 1500s.

    2 Corinthians 11:14

    King James Version

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

    Geneva Switzerland’s motto is:

    “After darkness, light”.

In Revelation 2:17, Jesus promises to feed the church at Satan’s seat. In 1 Kings 19, the pre-incarnate Christ (angel of the Lord) feeds Elijah under a juniper tree. One of the meanings of “Geneva” is juniper tree.

The #13 is also tied to evil in the Bible. Geneva has 13 zip codes.

In the old hebrew bible, “geneva” meant kidnapping to sell into slavery. This fits beautifully with the WHO & WEF agenda & both are based in Geneva Switzerland.

    1 Thessalonians 5:3

    King James Version

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Peace…Geneva is called peace capital of the world.

  5. Which is why I keep a respectable private library of BOOKS on numerous subjects. My library contains books on Christianity, religion, language and literature studies, histories, art and crafts, some carefully chosen novels and poetry books, gardening books and a few cookbooks! My way to preserve culture for future generations is to house these, read them and pass on what they teach me. I try to interest the young of their contents, hoping they might understand what’s at stake.

I find it concerning that the younger generation does NOT read BOOKS! They rely on their devices instead for videos and podcasts. Useful as those can be, they are NOT BOOKS! Something tangible in one’s hands, having weight (physically and intellectually), an object one can love for its beauty of appearance and thought, in a way electronic media can never do. Books are a collective memory, a physical commitment to culture and our humanity. Private libraries, college and public libraries are hard copy treasures of learning, information and inspiration. We cannot let AI obsolete and replace actual books, sending them to the shedder or a bonfire. Most of all, we cannot allow AI to replace individual ownership and management of books. That AI may reduce all knowledge to its one stream means some books and documents may not be included, depending on what algorithm is managing input. Who decides what’s eliminated? Who can trust electronic “libraries” to preserve anything for long when the technology is constantly evolving, changing, converting data (only some not all) and obsoleting?? So much gets lost in the shuffle of changing technology. It’s hard enough to preserve hard copy, for instance, the burning of the ancient library of Alexandria was a catastrophic loss of ancient literature. But to lock up knowledge and culture in electronic mediums seems even more risky. What truly preserves through the centuries a byte of data??

My little grandniece, aged 3, is being raised in a counterculture fashion—that is, without “screen time”. No devices to play with. No video games. She gets real books for presents which she loves, carrying them around like treasures, plopping a pile of them in the lap of relatives for them to read to her, page by page. Their stories and illustration fascinate her. She learns language and art that way. That’s one way to push back against the AI monster from consuming our words, our stories and erasing them from our memory.

    1. Hello kkayjae . It’s great that your grandniece is being protected from being over stimulated. I believe that this will help her develop a better self awareness at a natural pace. I think children’s minds are being overstimulated by social media etc. not to mention the dangers.

When I was a young kid we didn’t have a TV . We just had a radio and I remember listening to drama on the radio and imagining the characters and what they looked like It was a whole different mindset where my imagination was fired up as I created mental pictures of the characters and their situation.
