A top Russian member of parliament is urging President Vladimir Putin to employ Oreshnik hypersonic missiles in response to a major Ukrainian drone attack Tuesday morning targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure inside Russia. The drones caused multiple civilian deaths and injuries and will add more pressure on Putin to take decisive action.
According to a report by RT.com, citing Russian Defense Ministry data, a total of 337 Ukrainian drones were shot down above Russian territory overnight. Russian media described it as the largest drone attack by Kiev since the war broke out between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022, when Russia invaded.
Three civilians were killed in Moscow and more than a dozen wounded by the massive drone assault in the middle of the night while Moscovites were sleeping.
According to the report by RT: “When asked by journalists Tuesday if Russia should strike Ukrainian targets with the Oreshnik in retaliation, the chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee replied that “the decision is up to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief [Russian President Vladimir Putin].”
“But I think it would be appropriate [to launch the Oreshnik], and it would be even better if it is more than one missile,” added the MP, Andrey Kartapolov.
But Kartapolov is no back-bench MP. He is a former deputy defense minister and holds the rank of colonel-general in the Russian Army.
The Oreshnik missile, secretly developed over a period of years. made its first surprise appearance in November 2024 when it landed a direct hit on a Ukrainian military industrial facility. According to Moscow, the state-of-the-art system was deployed in response to Kiev’s attacks deep inside Russia with Western-supplied long-range missiles.
Putin said the Oreshnik’s multiple warheads travel at 10 times the speed of sound and cannot be intercepted by any existing air defense system.
Now, in breaking news today, Ukraine has accepted Trump’s offer to agree to a ceasefire deal, less than 12 hours after it bombared Russia and killed three of its people, seriously wounding nine others.
The ball is now in Putin’s court and I’d be surprised if he agrees to a ceasefire before he exacts punishment on Kiev for last night’s deadly drone attacks.
HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE: This war now stands a better chance of spiraling out of control than it does of being ended by U.S. President Donald Trump. He came into office surrounded by high hopes and a lot of political clout, but even the Trump swagger of “deal making” is defied by the hot mess that is brewing in Ukraine. And it’s all because of Western provocation going back to 2014 with the U.S.-instigated coup against a duly elected Ukrainian regime and its replacement with a Western puppet government. Any of my readers who are not familiar with that history, I urge you to research it.
The courting of Ukraine by NATO started in earnest in 2008 under former U.S. President George W. Bush.
This was Putin’s one very hard redline, no NATO membership for Ukraine, and it seems very reasonable. What if Mexico or Canada announced intentions of going into a military alliance with Russia on America’s border. Washington would have none of it. The West totally disrespected Putin and asked for this war in Ukraine, in fact they provoked it and wanted it. Now they’ve got it. We’ll see how it turns out.

“Your nation has made a bold decision and the United States strongly supports your request,” Bush told Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko after talks at the Presidential Secretariat here.
I also find it troubling that Infowars reporter Jamie White, pictured above with Alex Jones, was murdered in Austin, Texas, Sunday night around midnight outside his apartment complex. White and others at Infowars had been reporting on the Ukraine situation and the unsavory involvement of George Soros in that country’s politics, helping to trigger the brutal border war with Russia that now defies anyone’s ability to stop from spreading into World War III. White identified Ukraine in one article as “one big money-laundering operation.”
Even more creepy, White put out a statement on X in June 2024 in which he claimed to be on an “enemies list” that has ties to USAID, the CIA and Soros. He stated:
“I’m on the Ukrainian ‘Enemies List’ due to my work at @infowars and with @RealAlexJones on the Ukraine proxy war. The group who compiled this list is tied to the U.S. State Dept, USAID, CIA and George Soros.”
Maybe this was just a random attack, a crime of opportunity in a Democrat-run city that’s becoming increasingly violent and unsafe?
Or, could the killing of Jaimie White be meant to send a message to other journalists who might want to delve into the real causes of this war and the role of Ukraine in the globalists drive to create a one-world beast system based on technocracy and a sprawling global surveillance state?
We may never know the answers to these questions.

Reports indicate that Jamie White was shot while attempting to stop individuals from breaking into his car. The suspects fled the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
This doesn’t rule out state actors but I think it is more likely just a small criminal act.

Unibokk—yes, I checked that out after your posting. It does look like it was a burglary in progress that went violent.
But as you said, it doesn’t rule out state actors. It reminds me somewhat of the assassination in 1996 of Cambodian anti-communist activist Dr. Haing S. Ngor (a well-known Cambodian genocide survivor who played Dith Pran in the movie “The Killing Fields”). Supposedly it was a robbery that turned to murder when he refused to hand over a locket of his deceased wife, but a large sum of cash found on him was not taken and his pockets had not been rifled. From Wikipedia: “Kang Kek Iew, a former Khmer Rouge official on trial in Cambodia, claimed in November 2009 that Ngor was murdered on Pol Pot’s orders…”
So even supposedly obvious cases of a simple crime could well be something more. Shows how difficult it is to discern whether these are ordinary crimes or a Mafia-like hit by geopolitical actors, especially when it comes to victims who speak inconvenient truths.

I believe that he timing of such strikes often reflects strategic or political motives, aiming to weaken adversaries or gain leverage before agreements are finalized. I remember how Israel conducted air strikes in Gaza just before the recent ceasefire.
Zelensky was probably trying to influence public opinion in Russia so that they would want an end to this war. The hope being that this would incentivise Putin to negotiate a peace deal.
But with regard to Trump’s row with NATO , I think that NATO’S intentions was always on securing the natural and mineral resources in Ukraine. I’ll be controversial and say that NATO’s build up close to the border of Russia is more about securing their grip on Ukraine and preventing Russia from ever monopolising Ukraine’s resources, than it is about attacking Russia.
Trump’s behaviour is the reason for Europe deciding to rearm itself because Europe does not want to be excluded from access to Ukraine’s huge resources. They want their share of the pie.
Trump could have just simply reduced America’s contribution to NATO if he wasn’t happy with Europe’s contributions. But Trump is a poor diplomat. He’s a bully who may win the odd battle but ends up losing the political war.
So, now Europe is spending over 800 billion on rearming itself.
This is money which would have been better spent on improving life for it’s citizens. So, money which could have been spent on life will now be allocated to death.
Trump has gone maverick and he is making enemies all around him and is isolating America on the world stage. His bravado might appeal to his witless supporters but I am reminded of Hitler who was over ambitious and ended up losing everything.

It sure doesn’t look like anyone is ready to negotiate peace. Zelensky is really between a rock and a hard place—if he seriously negotiates peace with Russia, giving up territory the Russians conquered, the Ukrainian Nazis will kill him. He knows that. So perhaps that’s the reason for all the Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia– to make it seem that that Zelensky is in control of the battlefield situation (or at least an equal) and that he can dictate terms to the Russians. I find it stupid that Trump will reward Zelensky’s “commitment” to a cease fire by lifting his “pause” on arms shipments and intelligence. What does that signal to the Russians except that we are playing games?
The Russians see no reason to give up anything at this point. They are winning this war. Kursk is about to be emptied of Ukrainian invaders, the Russians are ready to assault the western side of the Dnieper river. They have made their demands clear from the beginning and they will not back down from any of them. Ukraine must be a neutral nation—no NATO—no western “peacekeepers” to occupy Ukraine—no cease fire that would allow Ukraine time to rearm. If the Russians agree to a cease fire, it will only be if there is a firm peace agreement attached to it. Most importantly, they don’t trust the West to honor agreements because they found we speak with forked tongue (as we always do). As a result, they will drive a very hard bargain in the negotiations.
The Ukrainians are dangerous “allies”. Too much Nazism among them and now some of them are being used in Western-backed terrorist operations in Africa and Syria as a kind of roving proxy army to be sent wherever. Journalist Gonzalo Lira found out how dangerous they were (and how abandoned he was by the US State Dept) and now poor Jamie White gets hit. But these assassinations could not be done without the consent of the deep state forces that hire the proxy killers. Unfortunate that we live in the belly of the Beast. It feels strange to be living “normal lives” under an overarching evil force.
