Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to a joint-session of Congress Wednesday, vowing “total victory” against Hamas while calling for the creation of a new multi-national military alliance that would deal with Israel’s primary Middle East nemesis, Iran.
Netanyahu’s speech did not seem in any way designed to lead to progress in months of U.S.-led pressure for Israel to stop its offensive and agree to a cease-fire.
The AP reported that Netanyahu’s speech was interrupted by frequent applause from mostly GOP lawmakers, while it met with stony silence from many leading Democrats in the chamber.
Netanyahu said the U.S. has a shared interest in his country’s fight against Hamas and other Iran-backed terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Netanyahu said:
“America and Israel must stand together. When we stand together something really simple happens: We win, they lose.”
The Israeli leader called on the United States to create a new military alliance similar to NATO in the Middle East, the purpose of which would be to confront the “Iranian threat.”
It’s interesting that Netanhayu brought that up, because NATO just announced earlier this month it will soon open its first Middle East liaison office in Jordan, a fact that has many Muslims riled up as they see this as a further extension of Western power into the region.
According to a report by Financial World:
“The opening of the NATO liaison office in Amman is a natural progression of the long-standing relationship between NATO and Jordan,” NATO said in a press release, also calling Jordan “a beacon of stability in the regional and global context.” Numerous negative comments have emerged on social media, and many conspiracy theories have begun circulating.
Some believe NATO now intends to actively engage in conflicts in Gaza or Lebanon on behalf of Israel. This is not the first time in recent months that Jordan has faced such criticism. In April, after Iran targeted Israel with drones, Jordan played a significant role in defense against the attacks.
Jordan stated it was only protecting its airspace, but many Jordanians find this problematic. About 20 percent of the population is of Palestinian origin, including the queen, so many people support a Palestinian state.
Netanyahu, in his speech to Congress, blasted those protesting against Israel on college campuses and elsewhere in the U.S. He called protesters “useful idiots” for Israel’s adversaries.
Security removed protesters in the gallery who rose to display T-shirts with slogans demanding an end to the war and the freeing of remaining hostages.
Netanyahu got particularly adamant when he started talking about the U.S. protesters.
One Democrat member, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, held up a sign that said “WAR CRIMINAL” on one side and “GUILTY OF GENOCIDE” on the other. She remained seated during the entire speech.
Tlaib, a Muslim of Palestinian descent, has relatives in the West Bank and represents a district in Michigan with many Palestinians, many of whose grandparents immigrated to America in the 1930s and 40s to work in Henry Ford’s automobile factories.
Netanyahu accused the U.S. protesters of the Israel-Hamas war of standing with the terrorists, those who raped women, beheaded men, and burned babies alive in the Hamas attack on Oct. 7.
He said, “These protesters that stand with them, they should be ashamed of themselves.”
Netanyahu was scheduled to meet with Biden and Harris today, and with Trump at Mar-a-Lago on Friday.

But, Israel is being held up by ‘Christians’ as being a beacon of light, which has God’s blessing and should be supported by Christians.

That is what world events are leading to. Christians should be testifying against Satan’s plans. But instead they are supporting the setting up of a Satanic state.

Well I myself have never portrayed the Israeli government as a beacon of light. I believe Israel’s government is globalist and corrupt, similar to the US government. That’s a separate issue, though, from the issue of who has a right to the land. I believe the Bible answers that question: it’s the Jews.

It can be found throughout the Old Testament, starting in book of Genesis with God’s covenant with Abraham and continuing all the way through the OT prophetic books.

The Jews HAD a right to dwell on the land. But this was conditional on them being obedient to God. I’ve covered this in detail in my comments to Hananiah and Anna.
Israel, forfeited that right when they broke the terms of their tenancy by murdering the land Lord’s Son, Jesus Christ the Messiah.
They continue to reject Jesus who is the true Messiah and will serve the ‘man of sin’ instead.
In their hearts they are saying , we will not have this man, Jesus, rule over us.
They are now just ‘SQUATTERS’ , who have forced their way back onto the land, displacing the Palestinians and squeezing them into an ever smaller patch of land where they are held in an open prison which has now become an open torture chamber.
In other war zones, women and children are usually allowed to leave and take refuge in other countries. But in Gaza they are killed and maimed without mercy at the discretion of the Israeli’s. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel.

He uses Israel, Jews and Christians as negative foils for Palestinians and elevates the latter to a status that is superior, while referring to the Koran. Jan wrote me off a while ago so I can’t let that influence me. I think Anthony’s arguments are exposed as wrong-headed by the debates here on my site. I try to make this a free space for debate as long as the participants remain respectful and don’t devolve into personal or ad hominem attacks. The truth prevails in an honest debating forum and I thank you for your participation in that. Anthony says he doesn’t hate Jews, that he’s just giving the “other side” on this issue and yet his opinions about Israel are the same as those found in the corporate mainstream media. So, I don’t understand how he’s providing anything to the readers that can’t be found among the ubiquitous leftist news sites. If we can’t defend our position against Anthony then we can’t defend it against the worldly mainstream so I think maybe he helps keep us sharp and on our toes as we strive humbly to serve our God as watchmen on the wall.

It’s one thing for someone to criticize a political leader and a country’s government, but to include in their attack an entire group of people of one ethnicity is evidence of a personal vendetta that goes beyond the spirit of impartial debate. I’ve seen so much of this on other websites that at times it’s overwhelming. It’s especially disheartening to find it on a Christian website.
Also, twice now since I’ve started commenting here, Anthony has seemingly tried to make a connection between me and someone named “Julia” with the latest insinuation in his reply to me yesterday: “@Julia, oops! Anna.” Can you please tell me who this Julia is and why I’m being targeted in this manner?

Anna, has been making personal attacks against me for a long time now in order to discredit my contributions to the blog.
I, on the other hand prefer to stick to the subject and let my arguments stand on their own merit.
I don’t hate Jews, per se. But I can’t ignore the dynamics of what is transpiring in Palestine. I am trying to make Christians see what is behind the Zionist agenda and where this is all leading to.
I support my arguments with biblical understanding and my arguments are sound. Anna, calling me a Jew hater does not alter the facts, which are:
that the Zionist Israeli government is presiding over a brutal regime whose aim is to destroy the Palestinian people in ‘Hitler’ type fashion, in order to create a ‘pure’ Jewish nation , free of foreign blood.
that whilst claiming to be the superior race they are, in fact, morally inferior to the Palestinians whom they are trying to displace.
that the level of immorality among the Israeli Jews depicts a nation that is in rebellion against God, akin to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. (Christ, predicted this)
They parade their contempt for God by holding a gay pride parade in Jerusalem where Christ was crucified, akin to the blasphemous depiction of a gay , last supper, which was acted out, in the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
But to call this out and to point out that Israel is preparing for the revealing of the ‘man of sin’, makes me a Jew hater, in Anna’s blinkered view.
If we refuse to acknowledge the facts , how can we bear a true testimony and how can we be prepared for what is to come?
Christ, himself was the victim of some vile accusations because he dared to expose the Jewish leaders and their plans. As Jesus argued with them they accused him of being a demon possessed Samaritan.

This was an attempt to put Jesus down in order to discredit his testimony.
The reason they accused Jesus of being a Samaritan was to demean him because they considered themselves to be superior to the Samaritans.

Netanyahu, like the rest of us, has no assurance that Israel’s staunch ally Trump will make it to the White House. Not only is the deep state’s finesse at election fraud apparent, but now that their lawfare against an opponent is fizzling out, they’ve demonstrated they’re also willing to commit murder to stop him. It makes sense, then, that the Israeli Prime Minister would appeal to Congress to shore up alliances, especially with the Republicans, because a Kamala Harris regime could be even more back-stabbing to his country than the current one.
Israel has never really had a moment’s peace since they were reborn as a nation in 1948. Attacked by entire Arab countries as well as terrorist groups over and over, they have always had to seek out allies in their existential fight. Several weeks ago the British Medical Journal Lancet estimated that under the uncleared rubble there is likely many thousands of dead, bringing death toll to 186,000. That’s because over 70% of the buildings in Gaza have been flattened with US supplied mega-bombs. How many were in those buildings because there was no place to go for escape as Gaza is a very densely populated area? This number includes those killed by forced starvation and lack of medical care. If this is revenge for October 7, this is over-kill to an extreme which can’t be for any reason except it is an extermination policy for another land grab. Our tax dollars are paying for this atrocity. Netanyahu spoke to our Congress to make sure we keep the money and arms coming to exterminate all Palestinians everywhere—Gaza and West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq. And our thoroughly compromised Congressmen jumped up and down like Jack-in-the-boxes applauding this obscenity. Shame on them! Fifty years ago, I had a Eastern European Jewish history professor who was ardently anti-Zionist and vigorously protested as apartheid racism the Israeli treatment of the Palestinians—well before Hamas existed, so he was not imbibing their propaganda. (in case you wonder, he never brought up the issue in class. I only found out about his views years later. So he made no undue influence upon my views.) It cost him his tenure at a famous Jewish university because his view was not the accepted narrative. There are many Jews today who object to what’s gone on in that region and some of these demonstrate at the protest rallies today. I’ve listened to the stories of numerous exiled Palestinians and Lebanese over many years—muslim and Christian– who had to deal with Israel’s abuses. Please look at the history of the past 100 years and the issues of the other side generated by that history, and how the hell America got roped into financing and arming this conflict, without any questions, into perpetuity. And please spare me anything from the Lancet, which is the same fraudulent journal that promoted the death shots and other lies about Covid. The thing about it is, I am not one of those Christians who defends everything Israel does. I totally realize that Israel is run by globalists of the same type that run our country. Not good. But in the dispute over the right to the land itself, I do not side with the Palestinians. They are being used as pawns by the larger Islamic ummah to pummel the Jews. That’s the way I see it. Islam has a bitter hatred of Jews and calls in their “holy” scriptures for their complete and utter extermination. I can’t square that with my Christianity. Leo–I did NOT suggest that Hamas is on the right side of the controversy. I have said before that their origins and aims are questionable–it hasn’t been the first time that Israel and the West has cynically promoted jihadi movements to serve their purposes (like ISIS). Hamas was formed to offer opposition to the Palestinian Authority–a divide and conquer strategy–who does that serve? Hamas’ terrorism has not helped the Palestinian people but has served as an excuse for Israel to pursue genocidal policies against these people.
But the Palestinian cause is legitimate. The Palestinians have been brutally and murderously ejected from their homes for the last 100 years. Why is that considered OK?? Because they are not Jews? Just filthy goyim?? (a Hebrew pejorative meaning beasts without souls). Americans assume that Palestinians are all later Arab invaders, so they can be kicked out as foreigners. But how many of Palestinians have ancestors that were the original Jewish inhabitants from Jesus’ time, who had converted to Christianity, and some later to Islam? Consider that. If they speak Arabic today, instead of Aramaic, it doesn’t mean they are all Arab genetically (foreigners), but had to adopt the language of their Islamic rulers. Just like American Indians don’t speak their languages anymore, but English or Spanish, which represent the dominant political cultures. And despite all the hate-filled propaganda from the Likkudites and their supporters, the Palestinians are not the modern day Amelikites. God did NOT tell the modern Israelis to utterly exterminate or forcibly remove the Palestinians. Where is that written in the Bible?
Old Testament history and the final Roman conquest has shown that the Jews are not guaranteed that land unconditionally. Otherwise the Assyrian invasion that exiled the 10 tribes and the Exile of Judah to Babylon makes no sense in biblical history. Their prophets warned them repeatedly that God would take them out of the land for their sinful behavior. And he did and that’s clearly in the Bible. He even prevented the golden calf generation from entering the “promise land”–so that shows that their right to possession of that land was conditional from the time of Moses. Modern Israel is NOT biblical Israel–it was founded by communists, atheists and terrorists like Ben Gurion. Since modern Israel has never had peace, it would seem very questionably that God has blessed their occupation. And besides, since Christ, the very definition of “promise land” has been transformed. That land was NEVER meant to be anyone’s God.
And not every article ever printed by the Lancet is untrue. If you have contempt for the Lancet now because of the covid article–that’s up to you. All you have to do is look at the ruins of Gaza, consider the extremely destructive munitions used to destroy the region, the extreme density of population enduring the assaults and their inability to escape, the systematic destruction of every single facility necessary for life there, and much else, and start doing the math. It ought to be obvious what’s going on there. The “official” count of deaths is about 40,000–that was before the facility and workers doing the death counts were destroyed themselves. Surely the stink of death in those ruins must be overpowering….right to high heaven. Why should we excuse this?? Why should we be a part of this in any way?

I don’t trust their “research.” While there may be some truth to these stories, because Israel is by no means a free country and is led by globalists similar to those who run America and most of Europe, it is also in the interest of a far-left publication like Haaretz to exaggerate these claims.

Both Israel and Hamas are noted for being among the most skilled in pumping out lies about the other. And I could care less about any “awards” that some mainstream corporate journalist has received from a woke institution, Jonathan Cook included. These type of news outlets are bought and paid for. It’s time you start to wake up to reality and stop believing mainstream corporate “journalism,” which is financed by ads from big agenda-driven corporations and grants from far-left NGOs. I remember somebody saying that there is no such thing as a completely objective historian. I would apply this to journalists , including yourself.
But that doesn’t mean that a journalist does not report facts, albeit with a left or right bias.
I think that Jonathan Cook is a well informed and experienced journalist who is well positioned to witness what is going on in Israel.
So, I would see him as a more credible source than the western media.
I think that too many ‘Christians’ have lost their critical thinking when it comes to Israel and ‘right wing’ politics and the Zionist agenda. Look at some of the Trump followers.

It is possible to support Israel’s conflict with Hamas while wholly rejecting the lunacy of a war with Iran and the folly of expanding NATO into the Middle East. I’ve heard of mission creep but this puts it an exponential level. The ME was never NATO’s brief. In reality, the body should be disbanded since the Soviet Union is no more and despite the wailings and warnings, it’s not coming back. Putin has in power for more that two decades; his troops went nowhere save for our provocations regarding Ukraine.

Boy is that ever true! Homicidal maniacs with the same radical Islamic ideology that Israel is fighting on all sides have been allowed to slip into America under the plan of the Democrats and the watch of RINOs. The biggest difference between the way the two countries handle these mutual enemies is that Israel wisely kills them but the U.S. naively coddles them. We are unprepared here for something that could be even worse than 9/11. More reason than ever for me and my fellow Americans to put all our hope in Jesus because our so-called leaders in Washington are NO leaders.

God bless you, Zelda, for your steadfast faithfulness in drawing our attention back to Jesus in all your comments!!! Something we sorely need in these times because it’s too easy nowadays to get caught up in anxiety, fear, or anger that we can take our eyes off Him. I’ve done that way too much.
It’s been bad enough watching my country taken apart piece by piece by those I didn’t vote for during these last four years. But then I saw the absolutely merciless hatred and barbaric violence unleashed on October 7th against innocent Israeli families and young people at a concert.
That kind of savagery is hard to grasp and almost unfathomable. It makes me believe more than ever that we are in the days leading up to the Tribulation and the adversary is starting to release his demonic hordes from hell.
In the full version of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to Congress, he pointed out a truth that others have noted as well, that this war against terrorism is one of civilization vs barbarism. If we pull back the curtain, we can see the war behind this war and all wars, and who has been driving them since he was cast out of heaven.
I have been watching how the violence has been escalating in the pro-Hamas protesters in America within these last nine months and have seen the blindness in those who support them. That inability to grasp the truth is one of the casualties in this war behind the war. The devil is a liar and he is good at deceiving people.
