Somali migrant attacks, tries to rape student after hiding in women’s restroom

A Somali migrant hid in the women’s bathroom at a community college in Minneapolis, Minnesota, then crawled into an adjacent stall and attacked a female student.

He was in the process of trying to rape her Friday when security heard the woman’s screams and responded.

Asad Abu Mohamed, 32, is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, making terroristic threats and fourth-degree assault of a school security officer.

As recently as December 13 another woman, 26-year-old Morgan Evenson, was assaulted on the streets of Minneapolis and stabbed 14 times by a man she described as a Somali. That man was never caught and the local media and police falsely reported the crime as a failed robbery, despite the fact Evenson said her attacker never reached for her purse as he stabbed her and dragged her through the snow until a Good Samaritan heard her screams and came to her rescue.

And at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, on Nov. 12, Somali refugee Mahad Abdiraham attacked two brothers with a butcher knife, stabbing them repeatedly in a Macy’s dressing room. Abdiraham admitted in open court that his attack was motivated by his belief in Islam and Allah, not as part of an attempted robbery as reported by the Bloomington police and local media. He said he went to the mall that day to answer “the call for jihad.”

In the reported bathroom attack on Friday, March 2, 2018, the Minnesota media again refrained from connecting the criminal activity to the suspect’s status as a refugee or migrant.

Local media simply identified Mohamed as “a 32-year-old Bloomington man.” No mention of him being a migrant from Somalia who likely came to Minnesota the same way most other Somalis came to Minnesota – through the United Nations-U.S. State Department refugee resettlement program. This program has delivered more than 140,000 Somalis to U.S. cities and towns over the last 35 years despite their horrendous record of non-assimilation.

The latest attack took place Friday afternoon in the women’s restroom at Minneapolis Community and Technical College in Bloomington.

According to the criminal complaint, when Minneapolis police responded to MCTC, they found people comforting a woman, while MCTC security officers were detaining a handcuffed Mohamed, Fox News affiliate KMSP reported.

The female victim told police she had gone into the women’s restroom, which had two stalls. She attempted to go into the larger handicap-accessible stall, but found it was locked, so she went into the smaller stall.

“While in the stall with her pants down, Mohamed crawled into her stall from the handicap-accessible stall” and attacked her, according to reports. Muddy footprints on the toilet seat in the handicapped stall revealed he had been standing on the toilet to avoid being seen while he waited for a woman to arrive in the adjacent stall, according to police reports.

The woman immediately began kicking and screaming at Mohamed. She told police, he covered her mouth and told her he would kill her. The woman continued screaming and fighting off her attacker. Mohamed ripped out her earring and pulled her hair during the struggle. The woman told police she was convinced he was going to rape her.

Bystanders nearby heard her screams and that’s the only thing that saved her. They rushed in and found Mohamed choking his victim with one hand and smoking a glass pipe with his other hand.

MCTC security officers arrived soon after. One of the security officers used pepper spray on Mohamed when he resisted those who were trying to restrain him. Mohamed “swatted” at security, apparently attempting to cut them with the jagged glass pipe. The security officers managed to handcuff Mohamed before police arrived.

When Minneapolis police arrived to take Mohamed into custody, an officer pat-frisked him for weapons. Mohamed told the officer to “f— off” and “I’ll rape you too.”

Mohamed remains in custody at Hennepin County Jail on a $150,000 bond. Police said he has mental health issues.

In 2016, Mohamed was charged twice in Hennepin County with indecent exposure. In one incident, he masturbated in front of a female employee at a Taco Bell in Bloomington, and in the other he exposed himself while walking outside and inside a SuperAmerica in Richfield..

But both of those cases were dismissed, one due to “mental illness” and the other because of drug addiction that apparently needed “treatment” not incarceration or institutionalization, according to court records.
