Decision adds to worries about coming food shortages
CF Industries, the nation’s largest manufacturer of fertilizers, is warning its customers that fertilizer shipments will be delayed and may not reach farmers in time for the critical spring planting season because of a move by Union Pacific Railroad to limit the volume on private boxcars carried by its rail lines.
The railroad company ordered CF Industries and 29 other shippers cut their volume by 20 percent. Union Pacific says the reductions are needed to reduce congestion, but CF Industries said it would ask federal regulators to intervene and end the railroad restrictions.
Why Union Pacific would single out the nation’s largest fertilizer producer just as it is trying to get its product to farmers in time for spring planting is suspicious, to say the least.
Mike Adams is reporting that rail carriers are also partially halting transportation of livestock feed grain, potentially forcing farmers to slaughter their cows and chickens if they can’t get enough grain to feed them. This would further drive up prices of dairy products such as milk, eggs, yogurt, etc.
The railroad-mandated shipping reductions not only means shipping delays for farmers but CF Industries said it would be unable to accept new orders involving Union Pacific rail transportation for the foreseeable future.
CF Industries announced its dire predicament April 14 on its website. This disruption in the delivery of fertilizers comes at a time of steadily escalating food prices at grocery stores nationwide due to supply chain disruptions, War between Russia and Ukraine, China hording global grain supplies, weather-related crop failures and other issues, all adding up to a perfect storm for global famine.
Unless American farmers produce a bumper crop this fall, the rampant food price inflation will continue to intensify, driving prices up even faster and leading to more shortages on the store shelves heading into late 2022 and 2023.
CF Industries ships to customers via Union Pacific rail lines primarily from its Donaldsonville Complex in Louisiana and its Port Neal Complex in Iowa. The rail lines serve key agricultural states in America’s heartland, including Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska and Texas, as well as California.
Products that will be affected include nitrogen fertilizers such as urea and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) as well as diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), an emissions control product required for diesel trucks.
CF Industries is the largest producer of urea, UAN and DEF in North America, and its Donaldsonville Complex is the largest single production facility for the products in North America.
Tony Will, president and chief executive of CF Industries, summed up the direness of the situation in a press release reproduced below:
“The timing of this action by Union Pacific could not come at a worse time for farmers. Not only will fertilizer be delayed by these shipping restrictions, but additional fertilizer needed to complete spring applications may be unable to reach farmers at all. By placing this arbitrary restriction on just a handful of shippers, Union Pacific is jeopardizing farmers’ harvests and increasing the cost of food for consumers.
“On Friday, April 8, Union Pacific informed CF Industries without advance notice that it was mandating certain shippers to reduce the volume of private cars on its railroad effective immediately. The Company was told to reduce its shipments by nearly 20 percent.
“CF Industries believes it will still be able to fulfill delivery of product already contracted for rail shipment to Union Pacific destinations, albeit with likely delays. However, because Union Pacific has told the company that noncompliance will result in the embargo of its facilities by the railroad, CF Industries may not have available shipping capacity to take new rail orders involving Union Pacific rail lines to meet late season demand for fertilizer.”
The application of nitrogen fertilizer is critical to maximizing crop yields. If farmers are unable to secure all the nitrogen fertilizer that they require in the current season because of supply chain disruptions such as rail shipping restrictions, the Company expects yield will be lower. This will likely extend the timeline to replenish global grains stocks. Low global grains stocks continue to support high front month and forward prices for nitrogen-consuming crops, which has contributed to higher food prices.
CF Industries intends to engage directly with the federal government to ask that fertilizer shipments be prioritized so that spring planting is not adversely impacted.
“CF Industries’ North American manufacturing network continues to produce at a high rate to meet the needs of customers, farmers and consumers,” said Will. “We urge the federal government to take action to remove these Union Pacific rail shipment restrictions to ensure this vital fertilizer will be able to reach U.S. farmers when and where they need it.”

Here’s the other reason why there are shipment delays or space restrictions on Union Pacific lines (and probably the other rails too). This is another view shared by Christians. But it is again based on assumption.
If asked, who the restrainer is I would prefer to simply say that I don’t know. Where the bible is silent it is not for me to say.
Daniel 10:21 doesn’t include the word’s “(in restraining)”.
In your zeal you are interpreting these verses in the light of a preconceived notion based on assumption. I would advise against doing this because it can lead to confusion where one error can lead to lead to another.
The pre-tribbers do that which is why they are so confused.

Please forgive my truthful zeal in interpreting these verses, which you allege are “in the light of a preconceived notion based on assumption.” However, I do know that the Bible is not silent concerning the Arch Angel Gabriel who no longer is withholding Satan’s unrestrained Marxist Beast.

Hello John. Let me first commend you for your efforts as you study the scriptures.
Here is some more analysis of the hebrew word
חָזַק chazaq {khaw-zak’}

So which meaning do we take from the word?
To decide on that we need tot look at the context in which the word is used.
In Dan 10:20-21 we see that the angel primarily involved in the battle is not Michael. Michael enters the situation in support of the other angel and to lend his strength to the other angel in order to STRENGTHEN him.
Michael is certainly not there to RESTRAIN the other angel. So I believe that the most accurate translation is the word “strengthening” which is used in ‘Young’s Literal Translation’ bible.
Daniel 10:21
“but I declare to thee that which is noted down in the Writing of Truth, and there is not one strengthening himself with me, concerning these, except Michael your head.”
If you read Daniel 12:1-2 you will see that in the end times Michel is very active there is not even the remotest suggestion that Michael is taken out of the way.”

So having considered all of this I am forced to say that I really don’t know who the restrainer is in 2nd Thessalonians 2 .

When the Lord gave us His written Word, I am sure He had no intention of any of us using it as bullets with which to shoot down somebody who disagrees with us, so very sad. I know I am sure I am equally as guilty, you would think we would all grow up and start considering what God’s true intentions were for us having His Word. Why did you skip the primary meaning of the word ???
In both of your arguments you have chosen to ignore context and have bypassed the primary meaning of the words in an effort to push a negative interpretation of Michaels actions.
This is devious and is not helpful when searching for the truth.
You are approaching the scriptures with a preconceived notion and an ‘a la carte’ approach, focussing only on those secondary translations which suit your notion whilst ignoring the primary translation.
The common sense reading of the texts in Dan 10 and 12 show Michael in a positive supporting role. But that’s not good enough for you.
I notice that when you quoted Dan 12:1 that you added the word “Hacob’s ” into the text , in order to alter it to suit your own notions.
If you cannot approach the scriptures honestly then I cannot help you. So I will end this conversation now.

Seems like all the US railroads are having problems with shipment space and have for quite some time. The railroad today is blaming the congestion on lack of power and job cuts to reduce operating costs. If you choose to testify for God then you have a duty to back your testimony with the word of God as revealed in the scriptures.

Please would you be good enough to tell me where it says in the scripture that I have a duty to back up anything, or everything, I say with scripture when I am communicating with somebody who has made a massive point of claiming to know the Word of God better than I do? I am at a loss as to understand why it is you think I should provide you with the information which you, allegedly, already have at your fingertips. If by my fresponse you decide I am unable to answere your question I truly do not care as my reputation rests in the hands of the One I love most in all the world not in the hands of any man, or woman, come to that. If you love your fellow Christians then you will ensure that they are kept in the truth and will challenge anything or anybody who seeks to mislead other Christians. Paul was not short on challenging the brethren when the truth was at stake.

I am a bit perplexed by those who are sure they will be delivered before things gets very severe. As a believer, I think you might find yourself suffering persecution longer than you might imagine. And, you might even die from starvation before He comes. We are to be busy up until He comes sharing the Gospel, helping others and showing this world a life of Christ in our actions. Sitting around waiting for Him to come does not seem to fit. We are in a war. We should try to find a way to get some fertilizer to farmers. Small trucks could carry a little and it mght help feed some children and others. Nothing is impossible with God. We can stand firm against the Devil and be a soldier of the Cross. I live in Texas. There are tens of thousands of illegals pouring into our country. Nothing is done. There are plenty of us with a truck. We can all make a trip with a load to a farmer. One week, this farmer gets 1,000 trucks, and next week the next farmer gets 1,000 trucks. Texas has a lot of trucks, I’ll tell you. All we need is to get organized. They are clearly trying to starve us.
Yes, I don’t think God is in control. I KNOW GOD IS IN CONTROL. His plan is not going to be thrawted by Satan or his evil workers whom we see all over the place. Whether we sit and wait for the Shout or stand up and fight while we are waiting, in the end Jesus Christ Wins. I’m with you. But, it doesn’t mean we don’t try to slow them down. So start thinking ways we can make a difference. Maybe one more soul will be saved in the process.

As a pre-tribber I am not foolish enough to believe I will be removed from here before things get any worse, I just know I will only be here as long as the Restrainer (the Holy Spirit) is here. As somebody who experienced appalling evil as a child, and this is evil whilst the restrainer is still here, I know we have not reached that point yet. I am sure, also, that many who believe they will be raptured out of here before the Tribulation begins, are fully aware that there is a way to go yet.
However, if I am wrong and I go today, I will not be complaining!

The pre-tribbers claim that the Holy Spirit is taken out of the world before the great tribulation. Then they go on to claim that God continues to save people during the great tribulation, after the Holy Spirit has been taken out of the world
This belief is self contradictory because a man cannot be saved unless he is born again by the power of the holy spirit. So how can people get saved during the great tribulation if the holy spirit has been removed from the world.
BTW the bible does not state who or what the restrainer is so neither should we, lest we be found to have committed a sin by misrepresenting the word of God.
The truth is that the Holy Spirit will continue to work during the great tribulation. Christians will be relying on the Holy Spirit to comfort them and strengthen them and keep them in God’s truth so that they remain faithful to Christ during a time of great apostasy and huge demonic activity in order for them to be able to stand before Christ on that great day when he returns with his angels to gather His elect.

However, just a little thing to bear in mind I do not ‘debate’, I quote the Word of God, (but I do not always give chapter and verse, I have this foolish notion that people will recognise what I am quoting without my having to give every detail) usually from the NASB which, I am sure is not the best but it suits me! I thank God there are some who post on your blogs who seem to have taken up the torch!

I am sorry, I am not sure about this but is it a sin to not be bashful? Have I lived for 79 years, come Saturday, in sin? Bashful = “uncomfortably diffident and easily embarrassed; shy; timid.” I might well have lived the first 20 years of my life in fear, this is what paedophiles and physical abusers do to you but not one of those epithets which describe the word ‘bashful’ fits me.

We do not ‘claim’ we just repeat what is written in the Bible or is it such a book now that only ‘claims’? I have to admit I am comforted by Paul’s words in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 and I have to admit I doubt I would find it a great deal of comfort to be told I am going to go through the Tribulation, having read the Book of Revelation many times.
By the way we do not ‘claim’ the Holy Spirit is completely removed from the world that, as you said would be contradictory, He reverts back to the ministry He had which we read about in the Old Testament. After all He is God therefore He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, so to ‘claim’ there is somewhere He is not present is utterly ridiculous, if that is how I put it then I needed to be brought up short because I should always be quoting he Word of God accurately.
However please be careful when using the word ‘claim’ it could hurt some people, especially when all they are doing is quoting scripture.

Julia, you are not simply quoting scripture when you say the Holy Spirit will be removed from the earth when the restrainer is taken out of the way. That may be some preacher’s interpretation of scripture but that is NOT included in the text of the scripture because, as Anthony rightly pointed out, the scripture does not identify the restrainer.

Thank you for your replies! I, too, just recently have been led to Ezekiel 33, i am in my 60’s going on 80, it feels like, so am already 3/4 dead, or should I say alive. Ha ha. Yeah, it’s the faith muscles that count, and I praise God for it. I used to think it was just natural to have faith in Him, and BELIEVE in His Words of life, but whoa have i ever found that not to be true, never knowing that so many don’t. I’m with you, Julia. Don’t know how anybody can get by without the Lord for blessed assurance. Perhaps we will be one of those mentioned in Isaiah 57. Like my parents, who are at rest now. I have to say, Julia, that I admire & commend the fact that for what you have gone through for so long, and not easy to share, either…that they did not succeed in turning you away from our Lord. I know they use things like that to drive people away from the Lord. So, prayers and blessings that you have hung in there, despite all, and they will not have that victory, but instead YOU WILL HAVE VICTORY IN JESUS, that they so much want to subvert. by they, I mean our persecutors. Just because we are trading comments and observations on the current situation, don’t assume that God does not come into the equation in the thinking of Christians here. (Non-Christian attitudes are another matter.) Nevertheless, we are discussing the signs of the times. Ezekiel 33:6 – “But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood swill I require at the watchman’s hand.” The point of this article and the whole blog is that THIS is the time to be watchful on fronts where severe dangers are appearing. “The prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.” Or as the ESV version states:The prudent see danger and take cover, but the simple keep going and suffer the consequences” (Proverbs 22:3) And this: “BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walking about seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)—a verse which is preceded by “Casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). While God cares for us, He also tells us throughout the Bible to be prepared physically and spiritually to weather the storms. Even to flee, if necessary, to escape the general destruction (Matt 24:16-20). The Old Testament prophets prophesied for years the destruction of Jerusalem, warning the people what awaited them because of their sin. The world today (and my country) is in the same condition as those people. So now warnings abound on what threats are coming and even how these are coming. There are things we can do to prepare to help ourselves physically and keep our integrity spiritually and so we should. I do know these scriptures as I have been reading and studying the word of God from cover to cover for nearly 47 years but I am sure they will be useful to some. However, I would personally find it next to impossible to pass a comment on a Christian blog without mentioning the Lord somewhere within the context of what I would be saying.
With regard to your latter paragraph, I do not intend to be here as I am very ancient so am likely to either die or the Lord will be ablowing that trumpet, hallelujah!
By the way the Lord impressed on my husband and I Ezekiel 33 many moons ago now.

In other words do you not think God knows our needs? Or do you believe that whilst He knows, there is nothing He is going to do about it?

I believe that we are watching the unfolding of a ‘perfect storm’ of man’s own making at Satan’s behest.
I read today that poorer countries in places like Africa will suffer badly from food shortages caused by the Russia/Ukraine conflict which will result in mass migration into Europe.
I believe that the whole status quo is being overturned in order to usher in the ‘global reset’ as espoused by Klaus Schwab.
It’s worth keeping a close eye on the predictions of Schwab , Juval Harari and also Bill Gates who happens to be the largest private owner of farmland in the US.
I reckon that Gate’s has planned for a famine.

What a fantastic opportunity for independent truckers. They could probably name their own rate per mile. It may not last long, but right now is the time to move. I kind of wish I hadn’t gotten out of the trucking industry in 2008. Running at the edge of legal hours a dedicated owner/operator could make a years worth of income in just two months. A team could conceivable run nearly 24/7. If I can think of this, I’m sure a lot of O/O’s can also.

As a former O/O it’s not quite that easy. If you cross a state line there are things like ICC permits. Then there is the high cost of fuel. Insurance is through the roof and if you can’t hayl both ways you loose money on the backhaul. Then you have to be friends with the dispatchers in order to get that hauling job. Trucking is a fine industry but not as easy as most people incorrectly believe.

Its strange they waited to the last minute to inform the farmers of this BS decision. Screw them. Sound like someone on the take or they are a part of the deep state BS. All the farmers need to get together and find other transport to bring the stuff to them. Air, sea or ground. Hell even Fed Ex maybe. Too bad I’m not rich. I see a good business deal here buying a fleet of semi and a few cargo plane maybe.

I wrote to my city council asking that they consider a victory garden program in our small city. I’m planting soybeans, sunflowers, mangle beets and corn to feed the 50+ chickens I will grow out next spring. Hopefully I will sell fertilized eggs to people that want to raise chickens. They will try to stop you from having chickens soon, and will destroy your flock due to phony pcr tests showing avian bird flu. I think the best bet will be rabbits if you want to continue eating meat, or keep your pets alive. They will be tainting the food supply soon, if they haven’t already started. If you want to live outside their system you will have to grow everything you eat. If that wasn’t hard enough, try it without a tiller or tractor because of no fuel. Food riots, starvation, societal collapse, martial law.
Can they accomplish this before November? Will they just brazenly steal the election again? Why not? No negative consequences, no jail time, nothing. At this point our “rights” are just self delusion. This cabal has already gone too far and they know it. They won’t be stopped by an election of the peasants. They won’t see their carefully planned control structure be dismantled. They will burn it all down before they will allow that to happen. Maybe the best outcome, if enough people wake up, would be a Civil war. What they have planned for us is worse than death. I’m sorry for such a negative post, but it’s hard not to see their premeditated murder plans.

This is heart wrenching. I come from a long line of farmers in S.D. We should all load up fertilizer in our trucks and get it to the farmers. There is enough of us. Sitting and doing nothing to stop this is not helping. We know their agenda now. Are we sitting ducks or loading trucks? It is past time to fight back.

The social security fund is paid for by deductions from a lifetime of wages, and it had paid for itself. It was not an entitlement, because every working person was forced to pay into it and each retiree deserves his money back, as promised. However, I would have preferred not to pay into Social Security, but to have my wages go into my savings where I have complete control over it. But Social Security fund is empty because Congress robbed it to pay for bogus programs and for wars. That’s corruption at work. Yes our borders are wide open and many young men of working/military age are crossing over, but I doubt they will pay taxes. Most came here to get on our welfare and they can get more welfare than American citizens. What our government intends to do with these illegal aliens is a big question. I think they are being allowed to flood here to serve some kind of corrupt purpose, at the very least to displace the citizens. Just my guess.
